A special discussion between comrade Tilvin Silva, General Secretary of the JVP and Archbishop Rev. Malcolm Ranjith, the Vatican Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship, was held on the 11th of September 2007.

They have discussed about the current situation and religious harmony in Sri Lanka. Parliamentarian Comrade Vijitha Herath, who is also the JVP's Secretary on International Affairs, was also present at this event.
