JVP leader Comrade
Somawansa Amarasinghe says that national Question in Sri Lanka
has been compounded by foreign interventions. JVP leader said
this when he met human right chief of the Denmark foreign
ministry Mr. Harns Garnet 24th April. The discussion which
commenced at 9.00am at JVP head quarters at Pelawatta lasted for
two hours in cordial manner.
Comrade Somawansa
Amarasingha pointed out that many foreign organizations and
personalities have attributed equal status to security forces
and separatist Tiger terrorists and that is a serious fault. He
pointed out that Prabhakaran campaigning for a separate state
constitutes a great injustice to Tamil people.

Amarasingha explained in detail that India has in the past
helped tiger terrorists by the supply of weapons , providing
with training in weapons , extending ideological support, etc.
Mr. Garnet inquired about
the position of the JVP in respect of the national Question in
Sri Lanka.

Amarasingha in response to the question pointed out that JV is
the only political party that has proposed to make the three
languages Sinhala , Tamil and English national languages. JVP
leader detailed about the lapses of the language policy
entrenched in the constitution of Sri Lanka.
He explained the involvement
of the JVP to grant citizenship to Tamil people housed in
refugee camps in Tamilnadu and about how the "Red Star" relief
Services to tsunami victims irrespective of their race creed,
background, etc.
