“Ralajayapura”- 4th Tsunami housing project of ‘Red Star’ declared open

“Ralajayapura”, the tsunami housing project built with funds from ‘Tsunami Relief Fund’ of the ‘Red Star’ Brigade of the JVP was handed over to people by Comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe on the 30th March, 2008.

The housing project constructed at ‘Labeema’ estate at Dikwella consists of 15 two storied houses that were distributed among those who lost their houses in the tsunami of 26th December, 2004. Each house consists of  three bed rooms, a sitting room and a pantry and has cost Rs.2 million. The recipients were selected with the supervision of the Divisional Secretariat. 

This was the fourth project of building permanent tsunami houses for those who lost their houses in the tsunami undertaken by the JVP using funds from its ‘Tsunami Relief Fund.’ 

JVP Parliamentarians for Matara District Premasiri Manage and Jinadasa Kithulegoda, Mr. Gamini Jayasekera, District Secretary- Matara, Superintendent of Police - Matara, Ms. Athukorala, Additional District Secretary, Mr. D.S.
