The JVP would enter the 2020 general election together with the strongest force that could develop the country says the Leader of the JVP Comrade Anura Dissanayaka.
He said this addressing at a meeting held at Ranna as part of the Hambanthota District programme of “District Exercise to build People’s Power” being held at present.
The programme of four days that would end today (7th) is participated by the Leader of the JVP Comrade Anura Dissanayaka, Political Bureau Members Comrade Lal Kantha, Comrade Sunil Handunneththi, Member of the North Central Provincial Council Comrade Wasantha Samarasinghe and Hambanthota District JVP Parliamentarian Comrade Nihal Galappaththi.
Comrade Anura Dissanayaka speaking further said, “The JVP would contest the 2020 general election together with the strongest people’s centre that could develop this country.
The local government elections will be held before 2nd December. People strongly believed thieves, fraudsters and the corrupt would be punished and such vices would be stopped. However, within one week of the formation of eh new government on 8th January, 2015 Basil leaves the country. I’m prepared to have a debae with him regarding what he stole from the people.
The rulers from ’85 have increased the debt of the country to 1050000 million. What has been done with the money obtained as loans? The Hambanthota Harbour, the Mattala Airport, Norochchollai power station and the Southern Highway has cost only 400 million. What have they done with money obtained as loans?
Earlier, we had a debt of US$1380 million and a harbour. Now we have a debt of US$1380 million and a sum of US$1120. What do they do with the money? A million dollars is necessary for an election. They want to build a few village roads, Money would be sent to divisional secretariat for their candidates to spend. This is how this money would be spent. The harbour was sold to find money to spend for the election. Their economic policy has become to trap the country in a debt trap and sell resources of the country.
Who is keeping Basil Rajapaksa’s money? It is with Thiru Nadeshan. I challenge the government to investigate Nadeshan’s bank accounts. They would never do it.
They have no communalism. They are not divided into political parties. They would never be divided as different political parties. However, they have taken measures to divide us as different political parties.”
