JVP was represented in the International Communist Seminar organized by the Workers’ Party of Belgium held in Brussels. Representatives of 61 Communist and Workers’ parties from 50 countries are participating in the seminar.
The Communist Party of Cuba, Vietnamese Communist Party, Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Communist Party of Russia, the Communist Party of Greece and the Progressive Party of the Working Peoples (AKEL) in Cyprus are some of the parties that are participating.
The Member of the Central Committee of the JVP Comrade Bimal Ratnayake and the Organizer of the JVP Committee in Belgium Comrade Nimal Jayakody represented the JVP at the seminar.
JVP comrades hope to meet representatives of many communist and workers’ parties to strengthen ties with them. They have already had discussions with representatives of trade unions in the USA.
