Official discussions based on the 20th amendment the JVP has presented in Parliament to get the executive presidency abolished would commence next week with party leaders including the Leader of the Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, TNA Leader R Sampanthan says the Leader of the JVP Comrade Anura Dissanayaka.
He said this at a press conference being held at the head office of the JVP today (28th).
The press conference was held to apprise the media regarding the need to abolish the executive presidency and the moves that would be taken in connection with the 20th amendment.
Speaking further Comrade Anura Dissanayaka said as it is necessary to have a dialogue regarding abolishing executive presidency with leaders of political parties as well as the people in the country a series of meetings will be held throughout the island in March to make the people aware of the move.
The General Secretary of the JVP Comrade Tilvin Silva and the Member of the Political Bureau Comrade Lal Kantha were also present.
