Comrade Anura Dissanayake, the Leader of the JVP and presidential candidate for the National People’s Power (NPP) cast his vote at the polling station at Abeysingharamaya Temple today (16th).
Speaking to the media, he said the presidential election held today would be a distinctive turning point in the politics of the country.
He said, “We believe that this presidential election will mark a distinctive turning point in the politics of our country. We were able to bring the eccentric election stage to a stage where policies are discussed instead. We explained to our people the destruction caused to the country by the groups that have administered the country for the last several decades and showed the country and the people the path that would build the destructed country.
We are definite that this election will be a distinctive turning point. Our expectation is victory. We believe that the people in this country would bring us this victory.”
