“The President, the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in the country use the most expensive Benz cars in the world. The tax only for the car brought for the President a few days ago was Rs. 100 million. Ten ambulances for our hospitals could have been bought with the money spent for the tax for the car. Can the ruler of the country use one of the most sophisticated cars in the world when some hospitals do not have an ambulance and children do not have a bus to go to school? Is this a humane administration? The President is about to go on retirement and he wants the most sophisticated car to go home!
These rulers not only are involved in frauds and corruption but also are not humane. Won’t they feel ashamed when they buy such things from the taxes collected from the masses? However, we shall build an administration and elect a ruler with humanness. Our priority would be to solve people’s issues. However, the question is whether the people are prepared for such a change. Such an administration cannot be built by applauding the side that wins. People should build an administration that wins. They could build such an administration only by casting their votes to ‘Compass’. We invite the people in this country to come forward to bring victory to the ‘Compass’ and make it their victory. Victory for the ‘Compass’ will be a victory for the people and the country, stated the candidate of the National People’s Power and Leader of the JVP Comrade Anura Dissanayake addressing the rally organized by the NPP at Wariyapola.
