People's Liberation Front held a protest march followed by a
rally in Colombo, on the14th August. Thousands of the party
members marched through Colombo streets demanding the government
to bring down the rising prices of consumer goods.
Party leader comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe addressing the massive
protest rally said that the government should take corrective
measures to bring down the cost of living and rein in
corruption. Placards read 'Bring down the cost of living',
'Bring down prices of milk powder.' etc.
