Three commemoration ceremonies were held by the JVP at Monaragala, Matale and Galle yesterday (5th) evening with the participation of its leaders to mark the 46th April Heroes Day.
April Heroes’ Day is held by the JVP annually to commemorate comrades who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland at the April Uprising in 1971.
The commemorations were held headed by the Leader of the JVP Comrade Anura Dissanayaka at Monaragala Community Center, General Secretary Comrade Tilvin Silva at the auditorium of the Hotel School at Matale and the Information Secretary Comrade Vijitha Herath at Hall de Galle in Galle.
