JVP and NPP leader Comrade Anura Dissanayake, who is currently visiting Japan, met with Japan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Tsuge Yoshifumi, at the Ministerial House this afternoon (22).
The current economic and political situation in Sri Lanka, the long-term friendship between the two countries and future steps in diplomatic and economic relations were discussed.
Special attention has been given to the upcoming presidential election in Sri Lanka.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Tsuge Yoshifumi congratulated Comrade Anura Dissanayake on his visit to Japan.
A group of officers, including the director of the Southwest Asian Division of the Department of Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs, Tsutsumi Taro, and its deputy director, Iwase Kiichiro, and several members of the NPP Committee in Japan participated in the discussion.
