It is very doubtful that yahapalana government will take action against the large scale bond fraud that has taken place in the Central Bank of Sri Lanka says the Information Secretary of the JVP Comrade Vijitha Herath.
He said this responding to a question asked by BBC service in London. Comrade Vijitha Herath had the interview with BBC service while on a visit to UK representing Sri Lanka Parliament on an invitation by the UK Parliament.
He has said that Central Bank bond scam had taken place two years ago but no legal action has been taken against it. Even if any action is taken tomorrow it would take at least 3 years for the process and then the term of this government would be over he has pointed out.
Comrade Vijitha Herath states the reason for not taking any action, despite a large scale fraud has been committed, is because yahapalana government wants to protect the perpetrators. The President had to appoint a presidential commission in haste as the JVP had asked for a debate in Parliament said Comrade Vijitha Herath and added that the government that came to power promising to catch the thieves has been detained by the thieves.
