The private library of late Mr Jayatilleke de Silva, a left activist, writer, translator who translated Karl Marx’s ‘Das Capital’ into Sinhalese has been donated by his wife Ms Sunila Nandani and the family to the JVP to be used in its libraries.
Mr Jayatilleke de Silva’s library was handed over to the General Secretary of the JVP Comrade Tilvin Silva today by Ms Sunila Nandani.
Mr Jayatilleke de Silva, a veteran journalist and former Chief Editor of Daily News and Sunday Observer wrote political columns to both English and Sinhalese newspapers.
