Next May Day will be commemorated under NPP government – Anura Dissanayake

May 2, 2024 Nihal Weerasuriya

Next May Day will be commemorated under a government of the National People’s Power, and it is our responsibility to build a society with law and discipline by the National People’s Power, said Comrade Anura Dissanayake, the leader of the JVP and National People’s Power.
He emphasized this while addressing the May Day rally of the National People’s Power held at Matara Beach Park.
“We are holding today (01) the last May rally held by the National People’s Power under the corrupt, criminal regime that destroyed this country and turned it into a beggar state.
Will there be even one more May Day in this country under this corrupt political regime? No. Also, the coming May Day will be held under a government of National People’s Power.
More than 100,000 people have gathered here today to commemorate May Day in Matara. Colombo is the same. It is the same in Anuradhapura. A May Rally was also held in Jaffna today. Hundreds of thousands of people have participated in these May rallies. These people have one goal, one hope. Why did you come here?
This country has been made one with no aim, a country without discipline, and plagued by crime. It has a government without an organized operation. The minister does not know what Ranil is doing. Ranil does not know what the minister is doing. Can such governments move on?
These are governments and parties without structure or order. They can only perpetuate the destruction of our nation. Can leaders like Ranil Wickramasinghe bring the discipline our country needs? No. We need a society that respects the law, and it is the National People’s Power that has been entrusted with this task. We must fulfil this responsibility.”
