After being introduced, Buddhism was widely embraced by the people, and its impact on the country’s social, economic, and political existence and people’s lives was immense. In particular, Buddhism has had a great influence in shaping the value system of Sri Lankan society and the way of life that depends on it.
The Poson festival creates a precious opportunity for Sri Lankan society to move forward while preserving positive social value systems and gathering positive attitudes to get closer to the true essence of Buddhism.
