The ‘Relief Services Brigade’ of the JVP has commenced a programme to take the flood affected people at Kaduwela to safer places and provide them with cooked meals. The Member of the Political Bureau of the JVP Comrade Lal Kantha joined the team providing cooked meals and other necessaries to the affected people yesterday (18th).
Comrade Lal Kantha and comrades of the Relief Services Brigade of the JVP visited areas where people were severely affected due to floods and took measures to provide them with food. The people, many of them confined to their homes due to flood water said no responsible official, a minister or a representative of the government visited them and thanked the JVP for the programme to aid the affected.
