‘Trial against JVP – 1971, Wijeweera’s Conscience’ the volume that incorporates records, charge sheets, confessions and evidence of suspects, reports from government heads will be launched at Mahaweli Center in Colombo on the 14th.
The volume compiled by experienced journalist Udeni Saman Kumara is launched as a ‘Niyamuwa’ publication. What is exclusive about this volume is that it comes as a collection of true historical written records without any analyses.
‘Niyamuwa’ publishers state the decision to publish the volume was taken to give the reader an opportunity to understand history fairly as the volume describes vividly how the leaders confronted the trial after the 1971 uprising, the reason for the uprising and how its leaders confronted the trial as well as the task fulfilled by Comrade Wijeweera during the trial.
71 හෘදය සාක්ෂිය අවදිකරන කෘතියක්
71 මහ නඩුවේ නඩු වාර්තා, චෝදනා පත්ර, සැකකරුවන්ගේ පාපෝච්චාරණ හා සාක්ෂි, රජයේ ප්රධානීන්ගේ වාර්තා ආදිය එකතු කොට නිමවන ලද ‘71 මහ නඩුව, විජේවීරගේ හෘදය සාක්ෂිය’ නැමති කෘතිය මැයි මස 14වෙනිදා කොළඹ මහවැලි කේන්ද්රයේදී එළිදැක්වීමට නියමිතය.
ප්රවීණ මාධ්යවේදී උදේනි සමන් කුමාර මහතා විසින් සම්පාදනය කර ඇති මෙම කෘතිය නියමුවා ප්රකාශනයක් ලෙස එළිදකී. මෙම කෘතියේ විශේෂය වන්නේ මෙහි කිසිවෙකුගේ විග්රහ ඉදිරිපත් නොකොට සත්ය ඓතිහාසික ලිඛිත සටහන්වල එකතුවක් ලෙස එළිදක්වනු ලැබීමයි.
ඉතිහාසය නිවැරදිව වටහා ගැනීමට පාඨකයාට අවස්ථාව ලබාදීම සඳහා මෙම කෘතිය ප්රකාශයට පත්කිරීමට තමන් තීරණය කළ බවද 1971 අරගලයත් ඊට පාදක වූ හේතු හා අරගලයෙන් පසු ඇරඹී නඩු විභාගයේදී අරගලයේ නායකයින් ඊට මුහුණ දුන් ආකාරයත් අරගලය තුළ මෙන්ම 71 ‘මහනඩුව’ තුළ විජේවීරයන් ඉටුකළ කාර්යභාරයත් පිළිබඳවත් පැහැදිලි නිරවුල් අවබෝධය මෙම කෘතියෙන් ලබාගත හැකි බවද නියමුවා ප්රකාශන ආයතනය පවසයි.
